Crime Stoppers International (CSI) was established to
support a worldwide network of Crime Stoppers programs.
The CSI acts as an international forum for leadership and training,
enabling cooperation and the exchange of information between
programs worldwide.
The CSI is registered in the United States as a not-for-profit
corporation funded by membership fees and donations. CSI operates
on a voluntary basis with policy being agreed by an unpaid board
of directors, who represent the member programs worldwide.
Services supplied to members include:
-
The Caller - the official publication of CSI,
distributed to members and interested subscribers.
-
Training Conferences - an annual international
training conference is held for Crime Stoppers training. The
Conference serves as an information exchange, allowing different
programs to swap ideas and to teach interested parties how to
start as well as organize a program in their area.
-
Operations Manual - a complete step-by-step
guide to setting up and running successful programs.
-
Legal assistance - legal guidance is provided
to member programs including assistance and research in the
provision of formation and legal challenges.
-
Membership Services - including assistance on
forming programs, Scholastic Crime Stoppers, networking, a tips
line,
website, and web board which enables CSI members to
communicate with each other.
CSI went through a re-structuring program in January 2005. CSI
will in future support Nations/Regions instead of individual
programs who will become members of their newly formed
National/Regional Association. CSI will continue to provide
similar services and support.
