Crime
Stoppers of the Lowcountry
participates in the annual Day of
Caring by promoting the "Giving
Victims A Voice" program.
Crime Stoppers of the Lowcountry
coordinates with local Law
Enforcement agencies to identify
unsolved crimes in which the
possibility of an arrest being
generated has been diminished.
Volunteers and Board Members
canvass areas specific to these
unsolved crimes, going door to
door with pamphlets detailing the
crime in the hope that renewed
interest may be the only means of
giving the victim a voice.

While
construction site theft is not
the most common type of theft, it
is one of the most costly.
Contractors are regularly losing
building materials, tools and
expensive equipment. Because of
the nature of construction work,
sites are especially vulnerable
to pilferage, both by on-site
workers and by criminals who
recognize an easy opportunity. A
builder’s options are limited,
but there are some steps you can
take to make your site more theft
resistant.

Without giving a name, a student with
information about a serious crime may tell what they know, remain anonymous,
and be eligible for a reward. Campus Crime
Stoppers is a community project supported by voluntary
contributions of money, goods, or services. These concerted efforts keep the
Campus Crime Stoppers program
functional, providing reward monies and basic operating materials.

Gun Stoppers is intended as
an added incentive
for students to make
sure our schools are
safe. Students are
encouraged to report
suspicious activities
to school officials.
Recent literature
suggests one of the
most effective means
of detecting firearms
/ weapons on campus
is receiving
anonymous tips from
students.
When a student
carries a weapon to
school, someone
usually knows.
